Creative Blog Thinking Helps!

If you have been a search engine utilitarian for the last couple of years, you have undoubtedly used a blog, or entered a blog that may have had some useful information.  But did you really understand the value that the blog had to the website?  The following are 5 great reasons to add a blog to your website.

1.  Create interest about your Business.

I feel that putting up a blog and contributing to it is probably the single most important thing you can do online for your business.  It gives you a place to explain to readers what your business and philospophy are all about.  It also gives your reader a great way to learn more about your business, your customers, and be able to ask questions or interact with your current customers.

2.  Improve Search Engine Rankings.

By adding pages and content to your site that is relevant to the site, you will naturally rank in the search engines.  The search engines notice when you get new visitors, content, and relevantcy within a site and reward you accordingly.

3.  Develop New Relationships

Educating your prospects is the key to turning them into paying customers.  Therefore teaching someone how to do something better, will make them loyal as well as help them to spread the word about your goods or services.  Most well meaning clients understand that their time is better spent cultivating new business relationships doing what they do best, not trying to figure out your business.  Thus they will generally pay you a fair fee for doing what you do best as well.

4.  Improve your Business

A blog is a great place to define your business, your strategy and vision.  It can be like having a small business or marketing plan.  As you air out ideas and strategies with others that serve as sounding boards, you are actually defining and refining your own plan as well.   I always find it amazing to look back on ideas and thoughts I had a year ago to see how many of them actually became productive ideas and strategies.

5.  Promotion and Advertising

Advertising anywhere today is not cheap.  Whether it is a yellow page ad, banner ad, trade magazine ad or Google Ad Words, only the big boys can really afford to spread it out.  But natural rankings allow even small companies to compete on a fairly even playing field with the big companies.  And by adding relevant content and links to a blog on a daily basis, you are able to build brand awareness and rankings at a very affordable rate.

If you don’t have a blog, get one.  Their extremely inexpensive and the easiest way I know to build your web presence.  If you have questions drop me a line, I’ll be glad to help you any way I can.  After all, that’s why we’re here.
